Summer has a way of making entertaining more relaxed and laid back. Sunday brunch is a favorite at our house and a great time for a Bloody Mary Bar!
The Bloody Mary is made for day drinking and a Bloody Mary bar at home is easy and so much fun! Put together all of your favorite garnishes in mason jars and let your guests go wild. The layers of flavors and are what makes this cocktail a crowd favorite. I make a basic tomato juice mixer and let each person decide how much alcohol (if any) and what flavors they want to add.
Now let’s talk garnishes, the crowning glory of any cocktail. Of course the basics are a must, celery, lemons, limes, olives and hot sauce are always expected. You can make it over the top by adding some unexpected items to the bar.
Shrimp, bacon and beef jerky are some of my favorites. You can prep everything a day ahead and put in the refrigerator. This is where serving in mason jars comes in handy, easy set up and very easy clean up.
Our galvanized 2 tiered tray is perfect for assembling the condiments and makes a great display. We have several different designs of trays at the shop and they are a versatile decor item to add to your home.
Here is my Bloody Mary recipe.....enjoy!
Bloody Mary Mix
24 oz good tomato juice
juice from medium size lemon and 2 limes
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ teaspoons seasoned salt
1 teaspoon celery salt
Black pepper to taste
If you want to premix with vodka then add 2 cups to the mixture when you are ready to serve.
Cheers to Summer entertaining and a laid back relaxed time with friends.
